TTXGP UK Round 3 Pembrey First Practice

21st August 2010

Drizzle and rain in South Wales has meant that the teams have spent the morning gearing the bikes up for a wet session and making final adjustments to the bikes. Due to the treacherous conditions only a handful of teams braved the wet track and took part in the first practice session.

The normally reliable Team Agni bikes of Jenny Tinmouth and Rob Moon experienced some trouble with Jenny's bike stopping and Rob's being way down on performance. The team are sure to have their work cut out to fault find and fix the issues in time for qualifying later this afternoon to give their riders the best chance of a good grid position for tomorrow's race and defend their lead in the championship.

TTXGP rookie, Darryl Harrison, stepping in this weekend for the injured Jim Lovell on the Tork India bike hasn't got off to a good start. Darryl only managed to get in 3 laps on the bike before the bike suffered a motor failure forcing him to retire from the session.

Harry Hardi on the LiFeBATT LiFeTech entry had an unsuccessful session having to retire before completing a lap. The change of the front end on the bike has meant that a mudguard can't be fitted, which hasn't helped in the wet conditions and they have suffered water ingress into the battery management system. Once dried out, they'll be working on protecting the system to avoid it happening again, should the track remain wet.

Annie Seel of Morris Motorcycles Racing Team was the star of the session and had no issues with her Mavizen TTX02 and its full wet set up, getting a complete session in, which has gained her valuable track time to help learn the circuit. Annie has been testing a lot since Anglesey and is looking really comfortable on the bike and will be hoping for a strong result this weekend.

The sun is threatening to break through the clouds and hopefully the track will dry out in time for the qualifying session this afternoon.
