Kenyon Kluge, K Squared team owner and racer finally wins the eSuperstock Award he was instrumental in helping to create. This year TTXGP decided to try and encourage new racers to the grid by accepting stock electric bikes into the competition; the result was the all new eSuperstock Award.

Kenyon, with a little help from his employers Zero Motorcycles rose to the challenge and has entered four bikes into each round of the championship.   The Award has given the smaller stock motorcycles something to race for and also provided the opportunity to have more people involved in eRacing.

The bikes have proved popular and have provided some of the closest racing seen in electric racing. With each bike more or less equal to the one next to it, it really does showcase the skill of the individual racer.   Despite being the engineer behind the bikes, Kenyon had yet to secure a piece of hardware for his mantel so Laguna Seca's win, snatched from Ted Rich on the finish line was all the more poignant.

“Laguna Seca has always been a difficult track for me and this weekend I really wanted to turn that around and get my first win in the eSuperstock award. I have put this class together but up till now had been bested by the riders I put on the Zero Motorcycles S bikes even if just barely. I wanted a win here at Laguna Seca and so when the lights went out and the race started I went all out to hang close to Ted. We swapped positions several times each lap and I made a point to draft past him and make sure he didn’t run away. As the laps wound down I tucked in behind to conserve energy and planned a draft pass on the straight coming out of turn 11 which got me to the line first. I really had a great time and again we proved that the Zero’s where fast, reliable, and trouble free. All my team had to do was plug the bikes in and check tire pressure all weekend. This was another great event and I am ecstatic to come away with the eSuperstock award!”

Thanks to Kenyon Kluge and all the support team from Zero motorcycles for hlping get these bikes to the grid.
