Isle of Man Minister to unveil Mavizen TTX02, the world’s first production electric racing superbike

Mavizen TTX02 come equipped with two Agni Motors.

Isle of Man Minister for Local Government and Environment, the Hon John Shimmin, MHK, will perform the official unveiling of the world’s first production electric racing superbike at the SEMA show in Las Vegas on 3 November. (Press conference 13.00hrs in the Making Green Cool Zone).

Following on from the success of TTXGP, the world’s first zero carbon, low emission motorcycle race on the historic Isle of Man TT course in June this year, TTXGP’s manufacturing arm is producing the bike, the Mavizen TTX02.
John Shimmin said, “I am very delighted that the Isle of Man and, in particular, our internationally renowned TT festival, has played such a leading role in bringing TTXGP to the world. The Island prides itself on being a pioneering nation with an independent outlook and a keen spirit of adventure – qualities recognised by the founders of TTXGP as they sought to showcase the world’s first clean emissions motorcycle grand prix.

“Revolutionary ideas are required to push back boundaries in the pursuit of improved performance and breakthroughs are achieved by taking risks and embracing innovation. John Shimmin was particularly instrumental in making it happen and it is only fitting that he should be here at another world first – the unveiling of the bike that is going to make green racing accessible.

TTXGP 2010 Technical Rules - Now Live

Its been a long wait, but finally we can release the rules for TTXGP 2010.

We have tried to keep the freedom for innovation and experimentation but have also adopted some lessons we learnt from 2009.

These technical rules are the same for all the TTXGP championships. Additional supplementary rules for the series and venue will be released in due course. These together form the body of rules for TTXGP 2010.

Our thanks goes to the TTXGP Technical Panel for pulling together in 2009 and helping get these out.

Any supplementary regulations, final instructions or clarifications will be notified to registered teams, as well as being posted on eGrandPrix.com.

The entry process for teams is also coming as we revamp the TTXGP website with a new system.

World's First Production Supersport Bike born on the Isle of Man TTXGP goes live in Las Vegas

The ripples cast by the Isle of Man TTXGP 2009 continue to spread.

On November/3rd, 2009 at 1305Hrs PST, the world's first supersport bike bred on the Isle of Man TTXGP will be launched in Las Vegas at the SEMA Show.

The bike is not only attracting the attention of riders – UK music top ten chart topper, 20 year old
Jodie Aysha (No 2 hit with ‘Heartbroken’) is using it in the promotional film for her new single ‘Pozer’
which will be released in January 2010. The film will appear mid December on MTV.

Azhar Hussain, who is producing the TTX02, said, “This shows how mainstream TTX02 is if it is
attracting the attention of urban pop stars. We are living in a click culture and connectivity is the key,
across the board.”

Hussain founded TTXGP, the world’s first zero carbon, zero emission motorcycle race which took
place at the Isle of Man TT in June this year. The TTX02 is inspired by the winning entry for that
race, the Agni X01. It has been built on a chassis espcially supplied from the factory of one the world’s
leading motorcycle manufacturers for Mavizen.

The focus of TTX02 is to increase the access for those that want to be part of the TTXGP. Being able to build your own machine for this level of motorsport is a high hurdle that we seek to remove. Bigger, faster and safer demands a co-ordinated factory approach to motorsports and this is the gap that the Mavizen TTX02 is filling.

It’s hard to capture the essence of something which started running before it could walk and is now
sprinting, but we’ve put down a few bullets on where we came from and where we are now.
• TTXGP was founded in 2008 by Azhar Hussain, an entrepreneur with a history in the electronics
industry.
• It launched in 2008, announcing the world’s first zero carbon, clean emission motorcycle race
on the Isle of Man TT for June 2009.
• The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) provided the technical scrutineering facility.
This panel wrote the rules and regulations working with the Auto-Cycle Union (ACU).
• The TTXGP was held on the Isle of Man TT course on June 12, 2009 as part of the traditional
TT race programme. 16 motorbikes from six different countries, including the USA, India,
Germany, Austria, UK and the Isle of Man took part in the race.
• The winning bike was produced by Agni Motors, ridden by Rob Barber and recorded a lap speed
of 87mph with peak speeds of 106mph.
• TTXGP’s manufacturing company, Mavizen, (www.mavizen.com) produced the prototype bike
TTX01 in November 2008, to ‘show what could be done’.
• Mavizen has since teamed up with a major mainstream manufacturer to produce the TTX02, the
world’s first production electric superbike ready for delivery early 2010 with a limited production

• Mavizen is also producing a ‘kit’ bike , TTX-kit, where the basic ‘ingredients’ can be bought for
£10,000 and added to a standard frame, making a race-ready bike accessible and affordable.
• TTXGP is developing a global programme of low-carbon motorsports events working with the
Auto-Cycle Union, British Motorcyclists Federation and the Fédération Internationale de
Motocylisme to provide a platform for competition to drive technology and innovation into the
next generation of motorsports.
• TTXGP has just announced its UK series of four events at major circuits - the TTXGP UK
Championships 2010. It is planning a US Championships with three venues for 2010 together
with events in France and Germany.

TTXGP announces clean UK motorsports series for 2010

PRESS RELEASE

TTXGP, promoters of zero carbon, clean emission motorsports, is pleased to announce a new UK motorcycling series – the TTXGP UK Championships 2010. The series follows on from TTXGP’s success in its inaugural event on the Isle of Man TT course in June of this year. The events are scheduled to take place at major UK motor racing circuits.

The series is sanctioned by the Auto-Cycle Union (ACU) and supported by the British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF). TTXGP is developing a global programme of low-carbon motorsports events working with the ACU, BMF and the Fédération Internationale de Motocylisme (FIM) to provide a platform for competition to drive technology and innovation into the next generation of motorsports

Speaking at this week’s Low Carbon Vehicle event in Millbrook, TTXGP founder, Azhar Hussain, said, “With the success of the TTXGP on the Isle of Man, we have shown that zero carbon technology is ready to deliver the thrills and passion for spectators and riders alike. In partnership with bodies such as the ACU and the BMF we are able to take the next steps and are proud to be pushing new frontiers in motorsports technology both on and off the track. Competition improves the breed, so we invite the best and the brightest in the world to join us at the dawn of the next generation of motorsports.”

Dave Luscombe of the ACU said, “The ACU is delighted to be a partner in the creation and running of the world’s first domestic road race championship for electric motorcycles. As the National Governing Body for motorcycle sport in the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland), the ACU has nurtured and developed British motorcycle sport for over a century. The ACU believes that the development of this new and innovative branch of motorcycle racing will help secure the future of sport for the next 100 years.”

Christopher Hodder, BMF, said, “The BMF is extremely pleased that after many months of hard work with TTXGP, we are going forward with a new championships for the whole of the UK which will have the full support of all the BMF’s members. This series will really show that electric motorcycling is the future.”

John Chatterton-Ross, for the FIM, said, “Following the great success of TTXGP, we are looking forward to yet another success, thanks to Azhar’s efforts. I think it is really helpful for motorcycling in general that the intellectual challenge for driving forward technology is being recognised and we are seen to be part of the solution, rather than part of the problem.”

TTXGP at Nurburgring with World Super Bike 2009

Many thanks to the WSBK for hosting TTXGP and allowing an exhibition lap to take place. It was a great experience to introduce TTXGP at one of the most passionate markets for motorcycles in the world.

On the day we had Team Agni, Team XXL and a new TTXGP team for 2010; Betti Moto from Italy.

Agni Bike sets a lap standard at SPA-Francorchamps as it prepares to go into production.

Didier de Radiguès, a former Moto GP rider and TV commentator tested the Agni Bike, that won the TTXGP in June at the Isle of Man TT, on the famous Spa circuit this week. His time was 2:59.08 which was a fantastic achievement as track was not fully race ready, and the lap was about 10 seconds slower then would have been had the track been fully prepped. The
Electric bikes performance was a triumph and proved that going green doesn’t mean moving slow! “I hope my record falls quickly so that I can come and chase it again. The thrill is always in the chase and, of course, the winning.” Didier de Radiguès on riding the Agni bike on the Spa Circuit.

Video of the lap will be posted in a week or so.

It was not the first time Didier had ridden an electric superbike; he also tested the Prototype bike The
Mavizen TTX01 developed by Mavizen at Circuit Zolder in April “When I first rode the TTX01, even though it
was early prototype I was surprised at how fast and how complete it felt. I touched the ground on the bends
and enjoyed the smoothness of the ride. The Agni bike improved this with sensation of floating around the
corners and without a heavy fuel tank, had an incredibly agile feel in the bends. I am looking forward to the
TTX02 and its motorsport focused performance.”

For would be racing teams the news is good, Agni Motors have teamed up with Mavizen to produce replica race bikes the TTX02, to make entry in the zero carbon clean emission egrandprix that much easier. Azhar Hussain, founder of TTXGP commented “Potential teams now have an easy and effective way to enter the TTXGP Championships. The TTX02 gives participants a chance to acquire a system that they can develop themselves to make it competitive and unique to them. Racing is brutal but at least with the Mavizen TTX02, the racers can start with proven platform.”

Potential customers can register for interest at Mavizen. Target price is £25,000.

Didier de Radiguès is a Belgian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer and racing driver. He
made his motorcycle Grand Prix debut in 1979, racing in the 500cc class. His best year was in 1982 when he
won two races and finished second to Anton Mang in the 350cc world championship. He rode for the
Yamaha factory racing team in 1988 as a team-mate to Eddie Lawson and ended his career with the Suzuki
team in 1991 as Kevin Schwantz' team-mate. He had 4 Grand Prix wins during his career as well as the 1991
Macau Grand Prix, a non-championship event.

TTXGP- The N�rburgring Sept 4th/5th/6th 2009

Busy month Sept. Expect lots of new stuff coming your way as TTXGP/The eGrandPrix moves to set itself up for 2010.

First stop is Germany. Courtesy of the World SuperBike round at Nürburgring, we will be delivering an exhibition lap with some of the TTXGP teams from the Isle of Man 2009 and welcoming some new cast members to the show.

TTXGP 2010: Isle of Man - New Class - PRO2.

We are making some changes for the TTXGP Isle of Man 2010. Whilst we had a great start to 2009, we learnt about what worked and what didn't. Also want to bring in new elements with an eye to the future.

First what isn't changing. We keep the PRO class from 2009. Some safetly related changes to the rules will be made, but essentially the same 1-lap race will be back. Bigger, better, faster. This promises to be a thrilling event and will push the technology forward to new records.

The big change is that the OPEN class will be replaced by a PRO2 class. PRO2 will be a two lap run of the famous Mountain course. Teams will have the option to pit stop or run through on a single charge. Rules for pitstops will be part of the new set coming soon.

So for TTXGP/Isle of Man 2010, we have PRO and PRO2. Many thanks to all the teams that have given us feedback and have promised to return for 2010. Look forward to welcoming new teams to the TTXGP/Isle of Man family.

Premier of TTXGP 2009 DVD held in San Francisco

Tonight TTXGP, held a early viewing at the offices of Mission Motors of the Race footage from the Isle of Man event. Edited as a race show, the programme is the centre piece of a brand new DVD and BluRay in production to be released in Sept.

Our thanks to the team at Mission Motors for hosting us at their new digs by the bay.

It was a great turn our with about 70 people. As well as press, there were members from other motorcycle companies and dealers.

The DVD will be a definitive guide to TTXGP 2009. We will do everything we can to release as much as possible. Work is already underway on putting together a unique package that will serve as a historical document for the first ever Zero Carbon Grand Prix. The first step in the next generation of motorsports.

The packages will include

- Unique footage from the race with special commentary by Charlie Lamber

- Behind the scene features and interviews

- Gallaries of pictures

- Each team will have its own Extras section with some never before seen footage.

TTXGP AMA at Mid-Ohio, USA

TTXGP is in the USA. Courtesy of the AMA, TTXGP held an exhibition event at the AMA Vintage Bike event at Mid-Ohio, USA. The largest gathering of its kind in the USA with an estimated 50k attendees.

Electric Motorsports, winners of the TTXGP Open Class on the Isle of Man were on hand with their PRO entry for the future. Riden by local AMA rider, James Poole.

Norton Electric were in force with the support of James Maddison University in Virginia. Given the impressivly low power drive, they still hit 106mph. Their rider was AMA Pro Thad Wolf.

Enertrack from New York, showed off their chainless direct drive in hub motor. Hitting an impressive 70mph on the quietest drive system we have ever (we mean EVER - it was freaky) come across. The rider was AMA Pro Jeremiah Johnson who incidently is building his own bike.

Zero came with their new prototype Motorrad platform. Unfortunatly a failed controller limited its speed, but was nonetheless rode around with good humour by Mike Cecchini.

Craig Schultz had a prototype machine that though didnt race took part along with everybody elsei the 85th AMA Annual parade.

Perhaps one of the most amazing stories of the TTXGP has been that of Tony Helmhold. 21 year old Tony heard about TTXGP coming to the USA, and set about building a bike from scratch. He rode it himself and did an outstanding effort for the time and resources avaliable.

Our thanks to all these competitors, AMA and the countless people who stopped by our area and the encouraging crowds who welcomed TTXGP to the USA.

Meeting the policy makers...

Both the winning Agni Bike and team, along side Kingston University, were present at the Motorsport Industry Associations (MIA) annual summer reception at the House of Lords, this Monday 6^thJuly.

Both bikes were invited to take part in a brand new exhibition: Gallery of Motorsport Excellence in the courtyard of the Houses of Parliament. It was good to see many MPs, Ministers, Lords and industry guests – despite the mixed weather! The TTXGP entrants we along side F1, Le Mans cars and pioneering engineering companies.

The MIA’s Summer Reception, hosted by MIA President Lord Astor of Hever, is regarded as the most prestigious social gathering on the international motorsport business calendar. The 2009 reception was attended by over 300 guests, including Peers, Ministers of State, Ambassadors, MPs, VIPs, MIA members and leaders from the motorsport industry across the globe. During the proceedings, the MIA honoured Ross Brawn the award for the most outstanding contribution to the motorsport industry. The award was presented by The Right Honourable Lord Drayson, Minister of State for Innovation and Aston Martin Le Mans driver. My spies tell me quite a few conversations were had that involved potential new teams entering into the TTXGP ….watch this space for news as it emerges.

TTXGP teams makes their first appearance at Goodwood festival of speed..

Both the winning teams, from the inaugural TTXGP on the Isle of Man, were invited by the Earl of March to participate in the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Riders, Chris Heath from Electric Motorsport (Open Class) and Rob Barber from Team Agni Motors (BEST BUY PRO Class) were present with their winning bikes and took part in the low emissions hill climb event.

This new Goodwood class featured pre-production concept vehicles using alternative power. Not only did the bikes take part in the hill climb but they were also a key exhibitor in the FoS-Tech Pavilion showcasing future technology. The bikes certainly proved to be a draw and the feedback from the Goodwood attendees was overwhelmingly positive. The teams performed extremely well, winning new racing fans along the way. Footage from the Agni bikes onboard camera should be seen on ITV 4 in a couple of weeks time…

How did it feel being part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed?

I was really honoured to be invited to such a prestigious event and it's exceeded all my expectations.

How did the bike perform?
The AGNI X01 was awesome and faultless as usual. Cedric had changed the gearing, so it was nice to experience the bike with a little more acceleration

What are the reactions to the bike?

People find the concept of an electric bike funny, but after they had seen the bike run up the hill they were truly amazed. The biggest shock was meeting Lewis Hamilton and him being very impressed with the bike and said he had been reading about it. Kevin McCloud, Murrey Walker and Mick Doohan where also very impressed with the bike.

What was your personal high-light?

It has to be meeting Lewis Hamilton & Mick Doohan and the last run up the hill where I had my knee down at most corners

What next for team Agni?

We are talking about a number of things at the moment and trying to get some strong backing so that we can become the world champions next year and also get a 100mph average lap at the Isle of Man. In the near future we are planning on racing the AGNI X01 against some petrol bikes before the end of the season.

ACU announces TTXGP UK Championship 2010

The UK is now set to be the first country in the world to have an officially sanctioned zero carbon/zero emission motorcycle championship.

The new four-round UK Series, "The TTXGP UK Championship 2010", will
showcase cutting edge zero carbon technology in racing motorcycles, harnessing many of the innovations that were first shown to the world during this year’s Isle of Man TTXGP race.

Regulations and management of the Series will be handled by the newly formed Zero Carbon Racing Commission, comprising representatives from both TTXGP and ACUE.

Jim Parker, ACUE Chairman sees the new UK Series as ground breaking and exciting, “Everyone was stunned by what the electric motorcycles achieved at this year’s Isle of Man TT, and it was this success that has encouraged everyone to expand their horizons to take zero carbon racing technology into this new and exciting arena”.

“We are incredibly pleased to partner with the ACU in helping to keep the United Kingdom at the leading edge of performance engineering. The UK championship is an outstanding platform for rapid development and deployment of zero carbon/zero emission technologies. TTXGP 2010 starts to take shape

The TTXGP machine races on, gaining momentum and taking form.

The framework for TTXGP 2010 is coming together and building on the success of the Isle of Man TT, we are growing beyond a single event. The FIM announcement is only the first in a series to come.

We'll be announcing regularly over the coming weeks so be sure to subscribe to our website for latest updates.

So looking forward to next year's TTXGP - Isle of Man:

1) Feet forward will remain part of the rules. So to the many many people who have commented on forums and have written to us, please accept that we welcome the innovation and are open to safe, competitive and new platforms for performance motorsports.

2) We will have two classes; PRO1 (same as PRO in 2009) and our new class PRO2. PRO2 will be largely identical to PRO but will be a two lap race with a mandatory pit stop in between for an optional battery swap.

3) We will no longer run an OPEN class, but will have a special award as judged by the TTXGP technical panel as being exceptionally innovative and good value.
